Attachment shopping, which actually means searching for items that may have a spirit attached to them. It is my favorite type of shopping. Though it is rare I find an item that is attached, it is worth the the hunt. I personally love to go to a place in Pomona Ca. called "Antique row". It's a great little street with several antique stores. The stores and shops are very old and you can feel the spirit energy inside them. I've found only a couple items so far that have attachments. One that was an old wooden sign which I purchased and another item is a doll, which I wish I could purchase but alas it is too expensive for me. Every time I pass that certain doll I can feel the energy. It pulls at me. I sure wish I could buy that doll. The desire to own it haunts me. (so to speak).
In some of the stores you can feel the energy especially in the basement area's and some stores on the top floor. It is a wonderful place to explore for the paranormal. The one item I, bought was a very old wooden beer sign. My husband was building a "man cave bar" and we were looking for old beer signs. There was this one sign I kept getting pulled to it. I knew a spirit was attached but I couldn't convince my husband to buy it.
I passed by that sign for weeks before I finally got him to buy it. it was so worth it. The spirit attached to it was a spirit of an old man. His name was Franklin. His spirits behaves like the character "Archie Bunker" from the TV show "All in the family", that best describes him. He is very opinionated and cranky, and unfiltered. Yet there is something so endearing about him. He has taken over our man cave and has a certain bar stool nobody is allowed to sit in because it is his. If you sit in his chair he will do something to make you move. He will push, nudge, etc., he'll do something to make the person uncomfortable so they move off his stool. When we close the bar at night we have to leave a certain light on, if we forget and turn it off you will see the light turn on under the garage door after we have locked it.He turns it right back on after we leave.
He is a great cranky spirit to have around and I hope he never leaves; bad attitude and all. So I am hoping someday that I will be able to purchase that doll and see what it has in store for me as well. But if someone buys it in the meantime, I hope they know what they are getting into. Attachment shopping anyone?!

Permalink Reply by Spooky Rodgers on November 4, 2012 at 1:16am I personally cannot understand why someone would buy something with an attachment and deliberately bring it into their home. i love antiques but I am very careful about what I buy. If i feel an attachment...I don't care how much I want the item..I walk away from it. Once in a while one will sneak past me but it is a rare occurrence.
Permalink Reply by Lisa Gutierrez-Haley on November 4, 2012 at 11:02am Well, I am so used to being surrounded by spirits it's just the normal to me. I have many in my home and it is still a very inviting comfortable place to be.And always active and interesting. To myself having spirits around is very comfortable not having them around would be unimaginable. I have never in my life been without them around me.
Permalink Reply by Spooky Rodgers on November 5, 2012 at 1:04am I grew up in a haunted house. I live in it now. Like you, I have never been without spirits around me. But the spirits here, with the exception of 2 are ancestors. I am very comfortable in this house and very use to the spirits that are here. But I just don't understand bringing in new spirits. When you do that you don't know what you are bringing in. I am not condemning people who do it. It is just something that I try my best to avoid doing. It is not easy between antiquing and paranormal investigations.
Permalink Reply by Lisa Gutierrez-Haley on November 5, 2012 at 1:30pm So you too are like me. It's nice to meet someone whom can actually understand and relate. As far as the attachment shopping, I have to get a feel for the spirit before I would even consider bringing it home. I rarely do bring them home. But I truly get what you are saying about what I call "stragglers". I have to be extremely careful with my work in the paranormal as well. My specialty is exorcisms Human demonic and property exorcisms, those I absolutely do not want to bring home anything and take many precautions not to. I don't know about you but I would find it very difficult to be with out my spirits around me. I have a nickname for them "PETS" which means People, Exiting, This, Sphere. My husband has finally gotten used to the spirits around and has become accepting of this way of living. He has even come to enjoy having them around (most of the time). With the exception when the mess with him. And they love to mess with him. I would love to hear more about your experiences if you would be willing to share. It would be really great!

Permalink Reply by Lisa Gutierrez-Haley on November 5, 2012 at 10:20pm Life would be strange without them don't you think? I had a stroke a few months back and everything went silent. I could not hear or interact with them like I normally did, it just went dead quite. It was horrible, I thought I lost my gift forever. But It finally came back. But when it was silent it was extremely difficult for me. I became very unhappy and lonely and empty. The spirits tried so hard to get my attention by moving things and banging and such, even a regular un-gifted person would have noticed.I am so blessed it came back, I was lost without it. WE all should be grateful for our abilities and NEVER take them for granted.
