Grant Wilson Leaving Ghost Hunters is yesterday's news, but do you think that Grant Wilson leaving Ghost Hunters is a sign that the SyFy Network might be cancelling the Ghost Hunters show in the near future?
I know that as a ghost hunter, Grant Wilson can be replaced with another ghost hunter... possibly a new team member on Ghost Hunters... But Grant was the co-founder of TAPS, and has been on Ghost Hunters since the beginning. I don't believe that Grant left Ghost Hunters to have more time with his family when he's been on the show for all these years without the time he has with family ever being a problem before... so, why now?
I like this show, and I don't want SyFy to cancel Ghost Hunters, but I can't help but to wonder if Grant Wilson, Co-Founder of TAPS, leaving the show was for reasons much deeper than the public knows about... which might be a sign of impending doom for the Ghost Hunters show. sometime in the near future... What do you think?

Permalink Reply by Heather Barros on July 26, 2012 at 8:48pm Since Ghost Hunters has been on TV for so long, and being one of the original ghost hunting shows, I would imagine that the syfy channel will not cancel Ghost Hunters, but then again stranger things have happened. I think there's more to Grant Wilson leaving Ghost Hunters then what was let on too...... But until the truth comes out, all we can do is speculate on the real reason Grant left the show, just as we will speculate on whether or not Ghost Hunters will be cancelled.
Permalink Reply by Samantha on July 27, 2012 at 7:22pm Grant left “Ghost Hunters” not T.A.P.S, and there were several reasons for his departure. Some had to do with the show & others were personal. He has touched on some of the reasons he left on his FB page, blog & on Twitter. Personally I don’t see “Ghost Hunters” lasting on Sy-Fy more than a couple years. Not because Grant left, but for some of the reasons he left. “Ghost Hunters” is not the show it used to be. Aside from Grant & Steve the people on the show are not who they used to be either. And yes I know this from 1st hand experiences.
Permalink Reply by Jeffrey Leeper on July 31, 2012 at 12:43pm Actually Grant wants more family time and more time to work on his music.
He's also furthering his education..... He thought about it for a long time ....the taping..the events.... a lot of obligations, not to mention his kids growing up without him.
He's a decent guy.... and he hasnt quit Taps...just the show.
The show is signed for another season, and not going anywhere soon.
Love those guys.
Permalink Reply by Bill Bornhoeft on July 31, 2012 at 6:08pm Ghost Hunters has been going downhill for awhile now. They've gone too Hollywood. Too many celebrity guests. Takes away from the reality. So does the spooky music. You can't even hear the EVPs. For those of us who take the paranormal seriously, this is a real let down. Maybe Grant also saw this and got out because of it. He seems like a very believable guy and very serious about his beliefs.
I really enjoyed the show in the beginning and continue to watch it but find myself liking Zak Bagans and his bunch more and more. I hope the network will back off a little and let the TAPS crew get back to serious ghost hunting.
Permalink Reply by Jeffrey Leeper on July 31, 2012 at 8:39pm Unfortunately Jay doesnt have control over what Pilgrim puts onair.
They condense 8 to 16 hours of investigation into 44 minutes.....Jay doesnt like the music either.
LOL.
Permalink Reply by Jim Hidlebaugh on August 2, 2012 at 1:51pm I stopped when they had the first Real Housewife from wherever.. I mean REALLY.... Having Meatloaf was one thing. But that is just my preference. After all, this is a TV show, and I knew where it was going to go. It can only be new and fresh for so long, then it has to to evolve into something else. I really like Grant, but Jason, not so much. It always made me mad how he yelled at Brian for everything. Even if Brian was annoying, he should have kept it more professional - And although I like Steve G as Tech manager, he has his issues too, and they were always hard on Brian for every little thing. I was tech manager of my group - I still am not that great at it LOL, but I would see where Steve messed up too and never was reprimanded.
Permalink Reply by Jeffrey Leeper on August 2, 2012 at 2:32pm You had to know the dynamic...Believe me...they were VERY patient....
You'd be shocked at how gracious and respectful Jay is in person. Soft spoken and polite...til he gets to know you...LOL....Actually Steve came out and told the guys when he messed up... thats the difference...Brians ok...Just a poor fit, and had priority problems....Real Housewives?...ugh sister station...not the guy's call. Meatloaf is awesome..
Permalink Reply by Jim Hidlebaugh on August 2, 2012 at 3:23pm I agree that no one knows everything going on but the people involved, but just like it is not proper to chew your employee out in front of a third party, I felt sorry for Brian, even if he was an A-hole.
Yeah I felt sorry for Brian too. I liked him and missed him when he left. He was a jerk sometimes but I still liked him.
Permalink Reply by Kay Brown on December 4, 2012 at 5:57pm I agree with you Bill ! I stopped watching Ghost Hunters for a while when Brian left and then returned to watch on occasion but have stopped all together since Grant left ! I didn't like the way Steve dogged Brian so much until he finally had enough and left the show. To me, it seemed like Steve wanted Brian's job and he finally got it ! Several others have left that was with the original show and it is just not as interesting as it was in the beginning. Seems like they are trying to go Hollywood ! I do wish Grant all the luck and hope he is happy with his decision ! Kay Brown PS/ You never see anything worth watching, it's boreing, you spend 30 minutes to and hour and you keep expecting to see or hear something and you see or hear nothing !!
Grant Wilson is into another venture now. He and another friend and both of their wives are designing video games and so far doing a really good job. I really miss him not being on GH. He was my favorite as he was more level headed than Jason and alot more calm. Sure they can replace him but somehow it just will not be the same without Grant. The show has had a real good run for what is it 8 years now. When I watch, I almost feel sad that Grant is not there now, it is just not the same for me. GH Int'l is not so great. One of the team members there always see things that no one else ever does. It is annoying sometimes. The only GH int'l I liked was when they are in the Irish Castles. Those are some spooky haunted places.
Haunted Hwy is the PITTS.....whoever thought of this is silly. I love Jael though, but I love her with Josh Gates and Destination Truth or on Fact or Fake Paranormal Files. She screams too much on Haunted Hwy.
Below is some information on Grant WIlson. He and his family are doing just fine, no family problems. He has a new gig, he is developing video games with another of his friends. Both of their wives are involved as well so it is a family thing. I sure do miss Grant in GH though.... miss him way too much.
"Ghost Hunters" fans may have wondered what Grant Wilson, cofounder of The North Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) and lead investigator on SyFy’s hit paranormal reality show “Ghost Hunters,” was really up to when he left the show after eight seasons - but the wait is over. Grant, it seems, knew exactly what he was doing when he said he was leaving to pursue other interests.
Fan speculation included everything from marital difficulties to a falling out between Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes. But, little did fans suspect that Grant's newest adventures would include starting a game board company called Rather Dashing Games. According to their site, Grant Wilson and lifelong friend Michael Richie have teamed up to produce a series of family games.
Current game titles available for purchase include "Four Taverns" – a strategic card game for ages 10 and up, "Red Hot Silly Peppers" – a card game of addition and subtraction for ages 7 and up, and "X-Marks the Spot" – a game of strategy and treachery on the high seas for ages 10 and up.
Grant Wilson is the Art Director and vice President, while Richie is the game designer and president. Reanna Wilson - yes that would be Grant's wife -is the Chief Financial Advisor while, Hollie Richie serves as the Chief Operations Officer.
The four-man team has plans for many new titles all designed to promote learning and lots of fun. Check out Rather Dashing Games to learn more about the company and review the descriptions and rules for each game and get a sneak preview of Grant Wilson’s amazing artwork.
