Should we now begin to move away from recording and posting orbs? The reason I ask this is because orbs do not offer definite proof of the existence of ghosts. It is very unlikely that orbs will ever produce anything like that.I feel that proof may well come in the form of photography or indeed by using a ghost box etc.I have the same feelings about the pics that contain what looks like smoke or breath caught by the flash of the camera, people say they resemble spirits, but if the photo was taken a split second earlier or later it would resemble something else entirely. Please share your thoughts on this.

ABSOLUTELY. Until someone comes up with a device that can tell a camera (dust, moisture, pollen, flare, etc) orb from the occasional energy related anomaly they aren't advancing the field at all. Mists are about the same, but I will admit I have seen a couple worthy of further examination.
Everyone who is serious about research needs to get into the mindset of collecting data that can be used and studied. My own team is experimenting with ways to trigger data in predictable manner. Better financed teams are looking into frequency analysis of phenomena. There are things we need to be doing out there beyond the norm. Groups should set a goal and work towards that goal.

Unless you're working site investigations in the way of helping the tormented & haunted. Currently that's where my path lies. Although I do try to keep my sessions as controlled as I can make them with P-SB7's KII's, voice recs, motion sensors, ESD detectors, IR camcorders static security IR cams.
We are doing a tour of the Bridgewater Triange which should prove interesting. Currently going over evidence from Anawan Rock.

Permalink Reply by CDS on September 28, 2012 at 5:52am John,
IMO the P-SB7 is the best spirit box. There are several others that are hacked radio shack radios or hacked Sangean radios, or similar. I've analyzed audio from them all.
Actually, CDS, I don't see the two interests as mutually exclusive. Our team is working on the technical side as I mentioned. But we are are believers and are of the opinion that this world is not where they belong. So along with out data gathering and experiments we also attempt to "cross over" any lost souls that are either causing trouble for the client or just plain old come to us for help.
I guess you could say that I want them to stop for a picture and a brief conversation before I send them on their merry way.
Permalink Reply by john schmeltz on September 27, 2012 at 11:06am ive seen so many pictures of orbs posted on different web sites of people claiming there spirits so many of them are dust bugs ect....! i have so many exsamples of this my self that i have taken with the camera . and agree with you . take care john ps glad i found this site sounds very interesting for gaining info on things cool
Permalink Reply by Shaun Gascoigne on September 27, 2012 at 5:54pm I am very interested in the trigger experiments and wish you success with them Wes. I wonder if anyone could give me information or a link to the sellers of the devices that CDS mentions?

There are many places online. http://www.ghoststop.com is one. Google is your friend! :)
Permalink Reply by Robin Hellier on October 2, 2012 at 1:35pm I think some orbs are anomalies, but a lot of the time it could be dust particles or lensflare. I have a friend who takes orb pictures and will be conducting an experiment in her home soon. She uses a webcam and infra red lights to track moving orbs and produce videos. I want to set the tripod up where the frequency of orbs is fairly regular, then start a small fan under the cam so that dust particles can't sail in front of the lens. Could be interesting.
You might be interested in this article, which goes into great detail regarding the orb phenomonon.
All the best, Robin.
Permalink Reply by Bruce Eyster on October 6, 2012 at 2:44am I find that in digital photography dust and any moisture in the air records as "orbs" , esp. if a flash or strong light is used , I've never played with night vision equipment but I've had doubts about most postings I've seen of orbs .
Permalink Reply by norman glasser on December 13, 2012 at 9:23am orbs is kinda funny to me, at first in the late 40s and 50s they were thought to be aliens and then they evolved to ghosts and now they are only dust, bugs or moisture. I like orb pictures they are to me a new kind art. Should we close the door on orbs not totally. I feel that the key to finding the spirit world will lay with the energy that we produce that they use our energy.
