As for finding affordable paranormal investigation equipment, I check websites like eBay and Craigslist on a regular basis. Most auctions on eBay either start off high or are a buy it now price with at retail cost, sometimes even higher than retail, which I assume sellers do to take advantage of people searching for equipment without knowing what equipment should cost, but every once in a while you do come across a low starting bid auction. In fact, I came across an auction where the seller didn't use the right keywords in the title to attract more bidders, and ended up winning an entire supply of ghost hunting equipment...

I paid just under $300 for the auction but got at least $1500 - $1700 worth of paranormal investigation equipment (used pricing, retail would be much higher) that was barely used, and a few things were new in the box, some things I got included a day/night HD camera setup that included four wired/wireless IR cameras with a DVR and all video cables (100ft. per camera), which alone I would have paid close to the price for this entire auction, but I also got a high-def full spectrum camera, a K2 meter, four emf meters, a tri-field meter, two digital thermometers, a ghost box with external speaker, digital voice recorder with two add-on microphones, a few software discs and a couple other things... It was a great deal, but chances are I won't find another deal like it anytime soon. How about everyone else? I'm interested to see what others think...

As for a good / affordable thermal camera... I have yet to find something I'm willing to trust that amount of money on without knowing more, and I haven't yet come across one on eBay or elsewhere with a cost that would encourage a quick impulsive purchase.

I do have a category in the forums on this website for a paranormal marketplace, where ghost hunters can buy, sell and trade ghost hunting equipment, but since this website has been newly launched, there is yet to be postings in that forum category... However, I'm planning on focusing more on marketing this site now that I'm getting caught up with a lot of the pages and content, so hopefully that changes soon...

Thanks Phillip, I have found that believe it or not Amazon has been a big money saver for us, the prices seem to bump up then back down on occasion, for instance K2 meters when I looked at them the first time three weeks ago they are around 45$ I paid 80$ for ours in a ghost hunting equipment shop. I found the 5mm green laser light pens with four xtra attachments with different patterns starting at $9 direct from the manufacturer in China they are good solid Mil Spec metal with knurled ends and easy to thread pieces that wont cross thread. Mel Meters were reasonable,etc etc I am now researching equipment vests multi pocket with mesh panels for comfort. I have found those all over starting at $20 on up.

One other thing I have found is that it is easy to build an em pump for under ten bucks or so. Guess what my next project is LOL everything can be found at radio shack errrrrrrahhh

It's hard to find many types of paranormal equipment, especially good thermal cams that are cheap in price. I think the best thing paranormal investigators can do is to network, which this site is good for, since networking can build relationships with people who may be able to get you good deals, or possibly even an a tech guy or an engineer who develops or builds equipment for ghost hunting.

That would be awesome Love maybe someone can add a forum called tech tips, like I said I just found video on how to build your own em pump on you tube I have located all the parts and the cost will be approx $15 for the build and thats putting in a led light to show it is working. The range on this is good for up to approx a four foot area. Dave

any idea how to get some equipment on no budget. we need an evp device real badly we have the emf and every other piece. sure wish i knew someone henerous lol

Evan when you say evp device are you talking about a recorder????

if so they can be had for well under fifty dollars at wall mart, I purchased a magnovox digital there with a  usb port, thats all you need you can download audacity for free, thats what I use on my computer to clean evps and bring them up. so no real issue there you can find all sorts of mini tape ones also that you cand do a great job with. start small and work up bro. well I will send you one to try out for free if it works then I will take orders if anyone wants to buy one. I dont plan on charging much it will be for the cost of the parts plus some of my time. We will see how it goes.
