SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA — For as long as there has been eBay, consumers have been able to purchase psychic, witchcraft and paranormal related items, such as magick spells, potions, haunted items, etc., But the sale of these items are coming to an end on eBay, effective immediately.

The metaphysical category has been a section on eBay for the past seven years, but following a executive meeting at eBay headquarters in San Jose, California, eBay execs decided to eliminate the metaphysical category, and to ban all future paranormal related sales.

The paranormal ban on eBay includes everything from psychic readings, love potions and witchcraft spells and curses, to the notorious haunted dolls and all haunted items. If you’re looking to buy or sell any metaphysical or paranormal related item, eBay will no longer be the place to go.

There’s a significantly large market for psychic readings, witchcraft spells and potions, haunted items and various metaphysical and paranormal related items. But apparently eBay believes that items that are intangible, and more specifically, related to the paranormal, and items with metaphysical attributes, are too risky for consumers to purchase through their website. This executive decision, while “protecting” consumers, will sacrifice tens of millions of dollars in sales, annually.

Effective September 1st, 2012, any listings that meet the criteria of the paranormal ban on eBay will be removed, and sellers who violate this new policy will be subject to having their eBay account suspended, or entirely removed and banned from the website. eBay sellers should be sure to read the details of the metaphysical and paranormal ban since any auction listings with keywords related to the paranormal or metaphysical will be flagged for removal.

Haunted Society offers a Paranormal Marketplace to our members, which is located within our various Forum categories, where paranormal items can be sold, and in the future we will consider expanding upon this opportunity that eBay doesn’t want a part of.

We would like to know what you think about the paranormal ban on eBay. Have you ever bought or sold a paranormal or metaphysical item in an eBay auction? Do you think eBay should ban paranormal items from their website? Comment below with your thoughts. If you’re not yet a member of Haunted Society, it’s free to join and use this website, Join Here.

Family’s Haunted House Inspires New Paranormal Activity Documentary

Family’s Experience Inside A Haunted House With A Dark History Is The Inspiration of A New Paranormal Activity Themed Documentary – Haunted Society Paranormal News – Subscribe To Our Paranormal News Feed Here

CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND — A family of six moved into a house with a dark history, ignoring the tragic and mysterious events that took place inside the home. Months later, the family’s experience in this house is now the inspiration behind a new paranormal activity themed documentary.

In May 2010, a mother and her two daughters were found dead inside the home. Four days later, a man who was identified as the woman’s husband, was found dead inside his car, parked a block away from the house. According to Christchurch authorities, the mysterious nature of the brutal crime remains unsolved.

The new homeowners moved into the house earlier this year. They were a “little nervous” when the real estate agent told them about the mysterious deaths inside the home, but they decided to move forward with the purchase anyways. Now they say “strange things” started happening from day one.

The 41-year-old father of the household, who asked to be unnamed, said he was not a strong believer in the paranormal, but strange things were happening that he just could not explain. “We’re not drug-addicted hippies who hang wind chimes from the trees, we’re an average, normal family. But all six of us, and even the dog, have been picking up weird things.”

Despite trying to “keep the children out of it”, he said his five-year-old daughter was found talking to herself in her room, and later came downstairs and said that she was talking to a “little girl”.

The family heard furniture moving in the lounge nearly every night, experienced “horrible sulfur smells that burned your eyes”, witnessed light bulbs blow continually throughout the house, and their dog is often seen growling at nothing.

They first believed that their “minds were playing tricks on us”, but now they believe their house is haunted. The family didn’t want to move out, but they didn’t know what to do, so they called in Christchurch Paranormal Investigators, and they had the house “cleansed” by a priest.

Anton Heyrick, lead paranormal investigator for Christchurch Paranormal Investigators, sent the family away for a weekend to investigate the house. The ghost hunting team set up video cameras and voice recorders in every room, and brought in thermal and infra-red cameras and other paranormal investigation equipment. “We are 95 per cent sure there is paranormal activity here – that means we can’t explain the things that are happening or what we are hearing.”

After a “full paranormal investigation” of the house, Anton Heyrick said he found “compelling evidence of paranormal activity”. The ghost hunting group filmed their entire investigation, and Anton Heyrick plans on making a documentary using the investigation footage, on-camera interviews with the family, and further filming inside the haunted house.

New Zealand Skeptics spokeswoman, Vicki Hyde, is concerned that the documentary might resemble a “B-grade special effects horror movie”, but said that she’s interested in seeing the documentary.

“There have been so many ghost investigations, none of which have ever come up with anything.” Vicki Hyde said. “We should be treating these things as light entertainment, but the problem is people can be vulnerable to ghost stories.” Vicki Hyde also raised concern that the documentary would exploit the family.

The father conceded light bulbs blowing might be faulty wiring, the sulfur smells could be from a burst pipe, and his five-year-old daughter might have a “wild imagination”, but said he was not trying to “convert” anyone into believing in ghosts, or that there is in face paranormal activity in their home.

“The house may or may not have electrical issues, and people are going to believe what they want to. But if there is such a thing as spirits, and they happen to be here, then that’s fine. We’re happy for them to open wardrobe doors and run up and down the stairs – we just don’t want it turning malicious. To be honest, I’ve started to get used to it.”

Anton Heyrick said he plans to release the Christchurch haunted house documentary sometime next year.

Have you ever experienced paranormal activity? Have you ever contacted a paranormal investigation team? Would you feel exploited if the ghost hunters turned your story into a documentary? We would like to hear your opinion, and invite you to comment below. Not a member of Haunted Society?Join Here

Poltergeist Activity Caught On Camera In Louisiana Pizza Shop

Employees of Stocky’s Pizza In Haughton, Louisiana Say The Pizza Shop Is Haunted, and Video Footage of Poltergeist Activity Might Prove It. Full Story On Haunted Society Paranormal News – Subscribe To Our Paranormal News Feed Here

HAUGHTON,  LOUISIANA — The employees of Stocky’s Pizza restaurant frighteningly believe that the pizza shop is haunted, and after finally catching some paranormal activity on a surveillance camera, they think this video will prove that ghosts are haunting Stocky’s Pizza.

Stocky’s Pizza employee, Lori Evans, said that she arrived to work in the morning of July 14th, 2012 and found an ice scooper in the middle of the kitchen floor. “The scoop is normally kept on a tray on top of the ice machine and that’s exactly where it was when employees closed the night before.” Lori Evans said.

The employees of Stocky’s Pizza have reported several incidents of paranormal activity in the past, and this made Lori Evans curious to check the surveillance footage from the night before, looking for an explanation for the moved ice scooper. She was frightened to learn exactly how the ice scooper got onto the floor, and believes poltergeist activity from a ghost haunting the pizza shop is the cause, which you can see for yourself in the video below...

Lori Evans said the video (above) was recorded at 6:00am, and there wasn’t anyone inside the pizza restaurant for several hours before, or after, the time that this poltergeist activity was caught on camera.

“The first thing that happened was when I was standing in the kitchen area at the dough roller working. All of a sudden a bottle of Tabasco [sic] sauce hit me in the back then landed on the ground. I looked back because the bottle had been on top of the microwave. A server who was in the dining area actually saw it happen and we were both freaked out because it flew across room as opposed to just falling from its spot! We started wondering at that point. The Tabasco sauce has been mysteriously thrown several times and busted on one occasion!

Another time was when we were working and heard a loud crash in the back hall. When we went to see what it was, there was a broom and a dust pan both on the floor. They “snap? into a holder on the wall so they are never on the floor. They’d been hanging there fine all day with no problems and snap into separate holders, yet both fell?

The motion sensors have gone off twice and the alarm company has called the owner to come out and check; to find nothing. Several of us have actually “felt? a presence and had the hair stand up on our arms/neck. When I came in that morning and found those on the floor, so far from their spot, I knew it was time to check it out on tape and we finally found evidence of paranormal activity!”

Before Stocky’s Pizza took over the location of this business, it was previously leased to Walker Brothers Convenience Store, and during that time, there was a fatal car accident on the premises. A car crashed through the wall of the convenience store, which is now Stocky’s Pizza, and the woman driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Lori Evans believe that either this woman is haunting the pizza restaurant, or might be the cause of the paranormal activity, and notable poltergeist activity seen in this video.

Do you believe that tragic deaths, like the fatal accident at this location, could cause places to be haunted, with instances of paranormal and poltergeist activity? Comment below with your opinion. ORLANDO, FLORIDA — The staff of the Titanic museum, with the exhibit “Titanic: The Experience” are saying that paranormal activity in the museum has increased to an all-time-high. As a result of several reports of paranormal activity, the museum said they’re now offering paranormal investigation tours.

For the past five years, the staff at Titanic The Experience have encountered some strange and unexplainable events within the Titanic exhibit. “While some swear it is the spirits of the passengers and crew members of Titanic reaching out from ‘the other side’ others speculate it is their minds playing tricks on them,? said Kerri Drake, general manager of Titanic The Experience.

To put the debate to rest and get answers to the paranormal activity, Titanic The Experience hosted a paranormal investigation, and said they have compelling evidence of paranormal activity generated by those passengers and crew who were aboard the Titanic on the evening the ship met its fate.

“After conducting a ghost investigation which uncovered extensive paranormal activity, we decided we needed to share the amazing results with our visitors,? said Katherine Seymour, vice president of public relations for Premier Exhibitions. “Ghost tours will allow our guests the opportunity to get a little closer to the passengers and crew who met their fate that tragic evening.?

Many people believe that the spirits of those who lost their lives on the Titanic sometimes connect with the objects they leave behind. The staff at Titanic The Experience is unsure, but there’s no denying that some creepy things are happening in the Exhibit. The actors at the museum have compiled their spookiest and most unusual stories along with lore surrounding the ‘Ship of Dreams’.

“I’m a skeptic, and I encourage visitors of Titanic The Experience to prove me wrong.” said Kerri Drake, she continued, “I’ve personally experienced odd encounters at Titanic The Experience, which have no explanation. It seems this ship and its former passengers and crew have a few more secrets to reveal?.

The ghost tours are designed for all ages and led by Titanic The Experience actors who portray notable Titanic passengers during the regular daily tours. Guests will also have an opportunity to explore the Exhibition and its authentic artifacts including a watch chain with pearls; telegraph to the main engine room; cooking pot; deck lamp; wine bottle; marble slab with cold water faucet and waste valve, and cut crystal carafe with the flag of White Star Line, the company that owned the Titanic. In addition, guests will be awed by a two-ton section of the R.M.S. Titanic’s hull – the second largest piece of Titanic ever recovered.

Titanic The Experience, an interactive exhibition which reopened in January in Orlando, Florida is now offering unique interactive ghost tours every Thursday evening at 7:00pm. This Halloween, the museum will be offering ghost tours every hour on the hour..

Do you believe that there’s paranormal activity happening in the Titanic museum, or do you think they’re hoping to increase interest and sales, especially near Halloween? Ohio University Wants To Demolish Haunted Building

Ohio University Schedules Demolition of Building That’s Believed To Be Haunted.. Students and Preservationists Hope To Persuade Them Not To Demolish The Building… Haunted Society Paranormal News – Subscribe To Our News Feed Here

ATHENS, OHIO — The Ohio University has announced their plans to demolish a historical building, that’s said to be haunted, before this coming Halloween… but many students and historical preservationists are objecting to the University’s demolition plans.

The Ridges Building 26 was once used as the Beacon School, but the 88-year-old historical building was originally built to serve as a tuberculosis ward at the state mental hospital that once owned the property, which was acquired by Ohio University in the 1980’s.

Officials at Ohio University said they’re hoping to demolish Ridges Building 26 before Halloween to prevent curious students and ghost hunters from trespassing and causing more vandalism to the building. “Ridges Building 26 has become an attractive nuisance” said Harry Wyatt, associate vice president for facilities.

Harry Wyatt said he’s not happy about demolishing a historical building, but in its state of disrepair he’s concerned for people’s safety. “When trespassers break in they’re putting themselves in danger” Harry Wyatt said, he continued “This is a part of my job that I hate, but personally and professionally, I’m convinced that this is the right thing to do for this building, for safety reasons.”

The state of Ohio has promised Ohio University $300,000 for the demolition of Ridges Building 26, and this has the historical society furious, and they’re wondering why the university isn’t using this money to rehabilitate the building, rather than tearing it down. “The building has historical significance as part of a still-intact mental-health campus that dates to 1868” said Tom O’Grady, President of Athens County Historical Society. “The building is not falling down, It’s deteriorating around the edges.”

K. Robert Toy, a lawyer on the historical society’s board, questioned why, if Ohio University is concerned about trespassing, they recently removed a fence that had been posted with ‘no trespassing’ signs. “If it’s an attractive nuisance, it’s more of one now,” K. Robert Toy said.

Ohio University Campus Police told Haunted Society that they’ve arrested 55 people in the last few years for trespassing at the haunted Ridges 26 Building. Most or all of which were thrill seeking students and ghost hunters breaking in to investigate because of the local folklore and claims of paranormal activity.

The last public statement given to Haunted Society Paranormal News was issued by Ohio University spokeswoman Renea Morris, who said, “The goal is for the building to be demolished prior to Halloween, but no demolition date has been set at this time. The project is going through final plan review and standard institutional approvals prior to its initiation.”

Students, preservationists and many people in the paranormal community are hoping that before Ohio University makes any final approvals for the demolition of the haunted Ridges Building 26, that they consider using the $300,000 toward rehabilitating the building and using it for a meaningful purpose. The office of the President of Ohio University can be contacted by Email Here if you would like to voice your opinion to the university, or you can comment below to share your thoughts. MESSAGE TO OHIO UNIVERSITY

This has importance to the paranormal community for a couple reasons, for one, we like many preservationists, prefer to preserve history whenever possible, but also because this building was once the location where many people died from tuberculosis. Of course with the rumors of the building being haunted, many people will be attracted to it, but if the building is haunted, this means that there are spirits within the walls of this building of every person who died there.

Haunted Society asks that Ohio University reconsiders their plans to demolish Ridges Building 26, and use the $300,000 to rehab, or at least, improve upon securing the building to prevent trespassers and vandalism. If they should still move forward with the demolition of the building, we ask that before doing so, that Ohio University consults a paranormal professional for a spiritual cleansing, to release the spirits of anyone left behind, or that’s attached, or stuck inside this building. Ohio University might find this to be bizarre or unimportant to consider, but if you would consider this and need assistance getting someone for a spiritual cleansing, PLEASE CONTACT US HERE.

U.S. NATIONAL NEWS — Recently, we reported on Ohio University’s plans to demolish a historical building, whose reason for the demolition is because of the local folklore and claims of paranormal activity attracting thrill seeking students and ghost hunters to trespass, break in, and even vandalize the former tuberculosis ward for the old state hospital.

After digging further, Haunted Society discovered that break-ins and trespassing reports related to haunted places have been at an all-time-high, nationwide, and with the 2012 Halloween season approaching, police are warning people that plan to investigate haunted places without permission, legal action will be taken.

In the past few years, campus police at Ohio University have arrested 55 people for trespassing and breaking and entering into the haunted Ridges Building 26. These arrests were all from curious people and wanna-be ghost hunters that trespassed and broke into the allegedly haunted building, some of whom even vandalized the property to gain access. Similar incidents have been surfacing nationwide, and it’s starting to give true paranormal investigators a negative reputation.

In the past month, over 200 police reports and arrests have been made for people who trespassed and broke into allegedly haunted places, including abandoned buildings, private property, and businesses currently in operation. A few weeks ago, in Trenton, Michigan two teens were arrested for trespassing at the old Riverside Osteopathic Hospital. The teens told police that they heard the abandoned hospital was haunted, and they were inside ghost hunting.

As paranormal investigators know, you should always get permission to investigate any place, whether it’s private property, abandoned, and most public places, but sometimes getting permission is not enough.

A federal lawsuit was filed this month by a woman who was falsely arrested for trespassing at an abandoned house, which she was given permission to investigate. Diane Briscoe and her sons, Jonathan and Alton, were conducting a paranormal investigation inside a house in Upland, Pennsylvania in September 2010 when police officers barged in. “They held guns to us, and even though we told them we had permission to be there, showed them the key and gave the officers the owner’s name and phone number, they still arrested us” said Diane Briscoe.

When she’s not ghost hunting, Diane Briscoe is employed as a police officer with the Chester, PA Police Department, but this too was not enough to stop the Upland police officers from arresting Diane Briscoe and her two children for trespassing.

The charges against Diane Briscoe and her children were dismissed after she was able to prove that she was given permission to investigate the reportedly haunted, abandoned house, and now she has filed a federal lawsuit against the Upland police officers for false arrest and emotional torment for holding her and the children at gunpoint.

This is a perfect example that sometimes having permission isn’t enough, and for this reason, Haunted Society suggests that ghost hunters should always first get permission to investigate a haunted place, and after you’ve got permission to investigate, if it’s an abandoned location, you should always notify the local police about the investigation. This way, the police officers that normally patrol the area where the place is located will expect to see activity that night.

Could all the hype with paranormal and ghost hunting television shows be playing a part in this increased interest in ghost hunting? We talked to Alice Newgen, from Ellijay, GA, a columnist with Chatsworth Times, and she certainly thinks so. “I feel that part of the problem is with so many radio and TV shows highlighting the paranormal it’s becoming more acceptable to be a ghost hunter” said Alice Newgen. “People need to be more careful, their actions could quite literally come back to haunt them… in more ways than one.”

Ghost Apparition Caught On Camera – Real or Fake Ghost Video?

WORLD NEWS — Many ghost videos can be found online, on websites such as YouTube, and even here on Haunted Society, but unfortunately not ever ghost video that you’ll watch is real. Whether it’s an honest mistake by the video maker, or the alleged paranormal activity has a natural explanation, or the video maker intentionally posts fake ghost videos, it’s rare that you come across a genuinely real ghost video.

Haunted Society has come across a ghost video on YouTube that might just be genuine paranormal evidence, or it could be a good example of the many fake ghost videos online… you can be the judge of that when you voice your opinion in the comment section below.

This ghost video is said to have been recorded in the attic of a 120-year-old haunted building, during a paranormal investigation conducted by a team of ghost hunters. One of the team’s ghost hunters posted the video to YouTube under the name “Tobias Schwarz”, and said that the ghost apparition caught on camera in this attic is the best paranormal evidence that he’s ever seen. Watch the ghost video below…

Click Here To Watch More Videos On Haunted Society

In the video description, posted by the YouTube username TobiasSchwarz, he says that the video of this ghost apparition was analyzed by some of the top paranormal researchers, including Paul Bradford from GHI (Ghost Hunters International), Bill Murphy from the television show Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, and the founders of MUFON, just to name a few of the people that he listed.

However, even though the list of paranormal professionals that Tobias Schwarz says analyzed this ghost video, he doesn’t mention, even briefly, that any of these people agreed, or disproved this as not being genuine paranormal evidence. Haunted Society will be looking into this further, with statements from the paranormal researchers that were listed in this videos description on YouTube.

It could be a real ghost video, but when Haunted Society looked into this, we noticed it’s the only video posted on this YouTube Account, and when researching the name, the only thing we found online was professional listings for a Tobias Schwarz as a “Story Artist” and some Google Search Results say that he’s a video imaging specialist. However, nothing indicates a Tobias Schwarz being part of any paranormal team, and with the combination of a story artist and professional video imaging specialist, you can’t help but to question the authenticity of this ghost video.

What do you think about this ghost video? Do you think this is a real or fake ghost video, and what makes you think so? Comment below with your opinion. Philadelphia Police Investigate Haunted Places In Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Hundreds of paranormal investigation teams have been sprouting around the United States this year, but very few of these ghost hunters have police officers on their team, or have an entire paranormal investigation team of police officers.

Olde City Paranormal is a paranormal team co-founded by a police officer and a tattoo artist, and the ghost hunting team has become a small police force dedicated to investigating the paranormal.

Philadelphia Police Officer, John Levy, founded the paranormal team in 2009 with Steve Rotondi, and Olde City Paranormal grew their ghost hunting team with Philadelphia Police Officer Amanda Levy, who is John Levy’s wife, and also Police Officer George Feinstein, an officer assigned to the city’s Mayor detail.

Officer John Levy said he became interested in the paranormal from watching television shows such as Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures, but it wasn’t until he had a firsthand paranormal experience that he decided to investigate the paranormal himself.

John Levy stopped by his mother’s empty house while on patrol one night to use the restroom, when he says out of the corner of his eye he saw a figure walk into a bedroom where his grandfather used to sleep. “It was my grandfather, but he has been dead since 1988,” Levy said. “There was no doubt in my mind it was him – his height, his walk, his stature – it was him.”

This is when police officer John Levy founded Olde City Paranormal with tattoo artist Steve Rotondi and his wife and colleagues from the Philadelphia Police Department, and since, the ghost hunting police officers have been investigating dozens of haunted places and claims of paranormal activity all over Pennsylvania.

Olde City Paranormal isn’t the first team of ghost hunting police officers… In Chicago, police officer Rob Fabiani founded his police force of ghost hunters, which led to a paranormal series on the A&E Network called Paranormal Cops. Although the television show Paranormal Cops wasn’t a success like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures, Rob Fabiani and his team of ghost hunting police officers continue to investigate haunted places in Chicago.

Officer John Levy said “there isn’t anything special about police officers investigating the paranormal”, but Officer Rob Fabiani disagreed, saying “Being police officers, it raises the bar. If I was a plumber I could lie through my teeth and go back to work tomorrow. As policemen, we don’t have the luxury of being reckless. We’re held accountable for what we say.” Perhaps Rob Fabiani’s statement was a dig at Ghost Hunters stars Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson?

A few well known haunted places in Philadelphia include the Eastern State Penitentiary… the Library Hall, on 5th Street, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of Benjamin Franklin, and the Philadelphia Zoo, the oldest zoo in America, is said to have two haunted buildings, the Solitude House and Penrose Building.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — It might not come as a surprise, but Paranormal Activity 5 is scheduled to hit movie theaters by Halloween 2013… Haunted Society is wondering will you be watching it, or are the movie makers wearing out their welcome with another sequel?

Paranormal Activity began as a low budget ‘lost tape’ docu-style movie back in 2007, but the success of the film motivated the movie makes to continue the legacy of the horror movie with a sequel the following year, and now every year since, a new Paranormal Activity has been released in movie theaters every Halloween season to follow.

Although the movie has received mixed reviews, and more film critics are weighing in with negative movie reviews, Paranormal Activity still seems to be leading box office sales year after year.

So, is it time for another horror movie to hit theaters during Halloween 2013 to give the Paranormal Activity franchise some competition? Will you be watching Paranormal Activity 5 when it’s released in movie theaters Halloween 2013? Or do you think enough is enough, and it’s time for the filmmakers to retire the Paranormal Activity franchise? Haunted Society would like to hear your thoughts.
